Yorkshire

This one is inspired by my trip to Yorkshire - such a lovely place! Lots of walking..perfect for a bit of relaxation before heading back to London.

Experimenting with gouache

So this are my attempts at painting with gouache. It was a bit tricky as it dries really quickly! But I think the outcome isn't all that bad. These are environment designs for my animation, though I have since had other ideas. However! I thought that it would be a shame not to paint these - so there you go!

A Storm in a Teacup

Ok, so this one took quite a while! I had a great time experimenting with different tools on photoshop - I tend to use the same ones so I thought I'd try something a little different. Quite pleased with the result!

Apple Picking

This is just an idea I really wanted to try - I have a thing about drawing trees, so now I have a Summer and an Autumn scene! Going to start producing artwork for my animation project soon...very excited!!

Walking in the Woods

Ok, so this is my very latest effort with oil paint. I think it turned out pretty well - just wanted to practice composition and experiment with colour - also play about with a bit of texture. Yes I adjusted it on Photoshop - but barely! Really would have been a shame to lose the texture of the paint! Would love to work on some more like this one...

The Treehouse

Just a happy accident really...I started out drawing the trunk of the tree, then just added things as I went. (Watercolour + clean up on Photoshop)

The Fortune Teller

This is something a little bit different. Tried to capture the atmosphere in this one. Rich colours and lots of shadow - with the only source of light being that glowing crystal ball. I'm rather pleased with how this turned out - really wanted that light reflecting in her eyes - think it completes it somehow..

ShopGirl

Inspired by my new job working at Cath Kidston! I kept it light and and used pastel shades - all in watercolour then edited on Photoshop.

A sketch..

I'm toying with the idea of turning this into an animation...

Mermaid

This is what I think a mermaid would really look like..she must have webbed hands of some sort - and her skin would definitely be lacking a rosy glow! She also has eyes like that of a fish..

Experimenting with oil paint..

So these are really just experiments with oil paint - I must say they took a little while to get used to!
I really wanted to focus on animals and landscapes - and have the characters actually in the environment. I'm thinking of doing a series on Williamson Park..it's just such a lovely place!

'Horrace the Horse'

'Ladybird's Journey'

Mother Goose

This is something I have been wanting to experiment with for a while - the idea of being underwater..I think it still needs improvement with the movement of hair and clothes though...

Light as a Feather

Concept Art for 'Clockwork Girl'

"She once danced in a storm, she thought none could destruct her,
However, she made a rather good lightning conductor."

Puppets

I really like doing these pen/pencil sketches..sometimes I find it's the simple lines that depict characters' emotions most effectively.

Quick Character Sketch

Taking the Reigns

So I've just turned 21. I feel that if ever there was a time to take charge..it's now. I'm now half way through my degree, so I thought I'd get some of my work out there!
